New Moon-Solar Eclipse in Sidereal Scorpio

Happy New Moon! This month‘s new moon is in Sidereal Scorpio and forms a solar eclipse. This New Moon requires a transformation. In Scorpio, a water sign, you may feel the urge to strengthen personal boundaries to protect your feelings, projecting an “I can do it by myself” approach. However, this lunation is calling us to create an emotional container that serves as a vehicle for transformation, and not just a means of isolating and hiding. This can be a cocoon of sorts, a safe space for you to reflect, assess and begin the process of internal change. Transformation is grueling work. Messy and complicated, you must surrender vanity for functionality, making efficient use of all matter. Nothing goes to waste, even the emotions you’ve denied, suppressed or hidden. You must face and then surrender what was to become something other than what you were not before and will never be again.

This one of the reasons why transformations are hidden: Witnessing this process can trigger fears of monsters and demons, old wounds that never healed stealing the fuel meant for your transformation, weighing you down with doubt, regret & bitterness. Away from what the eyes can see, safe in the darkness, there is magic: the alchemy of transforming lead to gold. Breaking it down into its basic elements to build bones, teeth, heart anew. Out of the darkness emerges something never seen before. Do you have the courage to go into the darkness, your own darkness? Do you have what it takes to transform?

This Scorpio New Moon thinks that you do. Be disciplined and face your truth. Please no intention setting, manifesting or channeling during this solar eclipse: eclipses are much too powerful. Eclipses are portals, a bridge between worlds, linking past, present and future. The best thing to do during the eclipse and the day of is rest. Meditation, journaling and prayer are also well suited to this energy, in which we can receive new energy, inspiration or insights. Another good use of the eclipse is to spend time with your dead/ancestors, whether you visit their grave or light a candle on your ancestor altar. Now is a great time to clean off the gravesite or altar, offer fresh flowers, water, coffee, alcohol and some of your ancestors’ favorite foods.

In the days following the eclipse, up until 3 nights later, you can continue with your energetic and spiritual workings.
