Full Moon in Sidereal Gemini

Full Moons occur when the Sun is in opposition to the Moon in the sky. This opposition symbolizes the energy of the light being directed at the Moon, and the Moon reflecting light back to Earth – There is an abundance of light, which can be energizing or distracting depending on the person. For some, the intensity of the symbolic light of the Full Moon can cause erratic, scattered or inconsistent energy. We all know of someone who spazzed during a Full Moon; Ask folks who work hospitals or in law enforcement about the Full Moon. In Astrology, the Moon represents the body, its feelings and emotions, which tell us about the body’s needs as well as the environment or context the body is in. During a Full Moon, the conscious light of the Sun illuminates feelings, providing clarity into what was once hidden. The Full Moon also represents a completion, culmination or ending- the blossoming of the fruit after a season of tending to it’s growth. If the New Moon is the planting of the seed, conception, the Full Moon is the blossoming of the flower or fruit, the manifestation of what was conceived.

This month’s lunation occurs in the mutable signs of Gemini & Sagittarius, indicating that this is a month of change. We are still recovering from November’s eclipse in Sidereal Scorpio, when the seeds were planted for a new beginning, a new beginning requiring transformation. With this Full Moon, we are beginning to see manifestations of change, although this change may have already been in the works for you. With the Sun in Sidereal Sagittarius, we may become more aware of or focused on (with the conscious mind) our belief systems, intentions and faith. Sagittarius represents wisdom and higher knowledge, belief and faith that cannot be measured, quantified or contained. The Moon in the opposite sign of Gemini does not possess this knowledge (yet) and wants to know more. Gemini is the sign of gathering and sharing information through speech and the written word, longing for it yet unable to attain it. This longing for and pursuit of knowledge can wreck havoc on our nervous systems, increasing anxiety and impatience. Is this the truth? How will I know? Who else do I need to talk to? What books do I need to read? How do I know what you know? Within the Gemini-Sagittarius there is a tension between gathering/sharing information and the possession of knowledge.

This Full Moon invites us to see the truth clearly, to expand our awareness and see with two eyes, or duality. To “know” with the mind and the body.  There is knowledge you can gather through books or speaking with experts, and there is the knowledge that is gained through lived experience- and life is lived through the physical body.Full Moons represent completion, manifestation or an ending – the blossoming of the fruit after a season of tending to it’s growth.

Reflect back to what began for you during this years New Moon in Gemini on July 9, 2021. Events at this month’s Full Moon will be the result of what started around that time. After months, you will finally have the info or news, the TRUTH you are looking for.The moon will form two dynamic aspects during this lunation –a trine to Jupiter and a square to Neptune. So while Jupiter will amplify this energy, Neptune will undermine or divide it. There is an opportunity for good luck, blessings and abundance that manifests through communications and distant (as opposed to intimate) relationships with the collective. Those working in academia, schools or media may benefit most from this energy. There is also the possibility for loss through delusion, insecurity or trusting the wrong people – Gemini wants more info, more communication, more knowledge sharing, but how do you know whose knowledge you can trust? Whose or which knowledge will undermine or weaken what you already know? All information is not good information. More knowledge isn’t inherently better.

How much do you need to know before you are wise? How do you set boundaries on your connections with others? How do you discern which content is good (expands you) and which is bad (harms or weakens you?)Mars in Scorpio, the master protector, also squares Jupiter, indicating internal tension between taking action to protect yourself (autonomy) and expansion of who you believe you are as an individual. As you push to redefine and re-assert your identity, don’t sabotage your efforts by misusing your energy or directing it towards the wrong people. This can show up as impulsiveness, doing too much or being extra. While this isn’t in and of itself a problem, you want to be sure that you are intentional, that your actions line up with your intentions.  Be the bigger person and put the wisdom you already possess to good use. Now that you know the truth, what will you do? How will your beliefs guide your actions? When you know better, you do better. The house placements of Gemini, Sagittarius, Scorpio and Aquarius in your natal chart will give you more insight into where these dynamics will show up for you.
